Now available at InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas, is the work of painter Dan Bodelson.
Originally from Minnesota, Bodelson was raised in Colorado and New Mexico, and later spent time with his art education and an early career as an illustrator in California. He left advertising after a year and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he has lived ever since.

Bodelson’s subject matter includes everything from the “American Indian and their lives, subtle landscapes, scenes of past and present from cowboy life, to delicate still lifes,” notes the gallery. “Dan’s imagination is kindled by Western literature as well as the natural beauty, which surrounds him.”

The artist’s works are in many outstanding private and corporate collections that include the State of New Mexico; Allied Bank of Houston; Plains Capital Bank, Texas; Avis Industrial Corp., Indiana; Bank of America; Wells Fargo Bank; former governors Bruce King of New Mexico and Frank Keating of Oklahoma; Amblin Corp. and director Steven Spielberg; composer John Williams and his wife Samantha; pitcher Nolan Ryan; and actors Amy Irving, Don Johnson, Melanie Griffin and others. His work has also been shown from New York to Los Angles, including at major institutions such as the Gilcrease and Eiteljorg museums.

Bodelson will be part of InSight Gallery’s Annual Fall Gallery Showcase opening Friday, September 5, in Fredericksburg. The show runs through September 25. —
